Ben,

I agree with having the reunions organized by the company that has been discussed in the last few issues of Mail Call.  However, I disagree with the scheduling.  The 15th of August is a very important date for me, as I am sure it is for other 517th members.  I don't make many suggestions, but if we're having an annual reunion, why can't we have it during the time of the year that is important to the older generation of the 517th?

from Frank Gallucci. He said he wouldn't be able to make it to Portland, but would be in San Diego in 1997. Did he just make a mistake (1997 instead 2007) or does he know something that I don't? Bob

Gene I received the following early this month. I am passing it on to you. Would you please present this to the Board and see what can be done for them. This is the Team that did the honors at the Oklahoma City Reunion in 2003. I appreciate anything that can be done to help them. They are a great organization and present Airborne All the Way.

Jesse

I am sorry that I missed you at Audrey Wolf’s funeral.  I would like to have said hello, but because of my duties as a Paul Bearer, I was unable to get away and say hello, and share in your Calvados!

As you know, I have been working to try and get the team to France for the 2007 celebrations of Operation Dragoon.

I would appreciate any assistance you can give us to get the team formally recognized by the 517th and get every assistance from your organization to make us “officially sanctioned’

I do not know if you are planning to go to the July reunion this year, but anything you can do to get this approval would be much appreciated.

The World War II Airborne Demonstration Team has a long association with the 517th and we enjoyed sharing your reunion in Oklahoma and believe that together we could create a wonderful way to remember the fallen heroes of the 517th, 509th and 5551st .

 Kind regards
